"Helping Hands Day 2017"
In Matthew 25 Jesus shared an example of kind hearted and caring people that fed the hungry, clothed the naked and visited the needy. He related that doing these things for others was actually doing these things for Him. The Deep River Helping Hands Day (May 20) was a great success! The Deep River church family gave out food, clothing and household items to over 70 families in the community.
There were those who donated items, those who helped set-up for the event and those who were there to greet and assist families on the day of the event. We were able to make some great connections with people! Not only did Deep River church members generously donate their time and resources in an effort to help others with our material blessings, but there were also many opportunities to share our faith. Great conversations, tracts and other spiritual information was shared with every visitor we met.
We planted seeds that have already started producing fruit in the form of visitors attending Sunday morning services, Bible studies in the community and a special prayer request to visit and pray for a sick loved one. Thank you to all the Deep River family for making the Helping Hands Day such a success. Please continue to pray that God blesses our efforts to reach souls in the Greensboro/Triad area and, “that our light so shine before men, that they may see our good works and glorify our Father in heaven!” (Mt. 5:16)
