Lads to Leaders/Leaderettes
Purpose:The purpose of Lads to Leaders/Leaderettes is to help local congregations instill the Word of God into youth and adults so that they will stand firm in the faith.  Teaching students to do “Bible things in Bible ways” is the essence of Lads to Leaders/Leaderettes."

Opportunities to help: Event coordinator, puppet coach, speech and song leading mentor, props design and/or production, charity/volunteer work coordinator, hotel coordinator, Bible bowl leader, etc. Whatever your interest, we have a place for you!

Time commitment: Varies with the area where you decide to help.  Our church is involved in many of the events and volunteers are needed in all of them. You can volunteer to make puppet costumes, listen to a Bible reader, coach a speaker or song leader, coordinate an event, coach a puppet team, write scripts, or judge events at convention. The choice is up to you.

Lads to Leaders/Leaderettes is a program developed by the Church of Christ and is designed to develop young men and women into Christian leaders both in the Church and in the community. This program, however, is not just a Youth program. It is a congregational program using the Biblical principles of the old teaching the young.Adult mentors assist the youth in training in areas such as scripture reading, Bible reading, speech preparation and presentation, debate, Bible Bowl and song leading.

Lads to Leaders also offers scholarship money to graduating Seniors. To learn more specific information about these events or the program itself please visit www.lads-to-leaders.org.

The Deep River Church of Christ is excited for the opportunity to help prepare our young people to be great leaders.

Lads to Leaders/Leaderettes
Lads-to-Leaders - There are still some families that have not registered for convention. Please see Kenny Yoder or Todd Hamm for these forms. It is crucial that this is taken care of ASAP as we are trying to form puppet teams and get coaches. I’d like to introduce new member, David Rutherford as our new puppet theater coordinator. David and his family have been involved with Lads for a number of years. Please help welcome their family and David as the puppet theater coordinator.  We will meet with the coaches as soon as we have the teams in place, so we can proceed with preparation for the convention. Any adults interested in coaching a puppet team please see Kenny, Todd, or David so we can get started quickly.
GIFTS – Attention all girls from 13-18years: GIFTS (Girls in Fellowship & Team Study) Kick-off will take place Saturday, September 15th in room 13 from 10:30-12:30. See if you can work together to get out of the GIFTS Escape Room before your time is up. Lunch will be provided. Please contact Kentellia Wingate or Rachel Johnson For more information.
